Description
TPIis currently hiring Print Production Associates for2nd and 3rd shiftto work onsite in Des Moines, IA.
The Print Production Associate supports the production of printed materials by assisting in press room operations, digital printing, and bindery tasks. This position offers on-the-job training across various areas including digital press operation, material handling, sorting direct mail jobs with variable data components and equipment upkeep. This individual also supports press operators with make-ready procedures, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work environment. A strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn are essential.
Essential Functions:
+ Assist in setting up and operating digital and large format presses, as well as bindery equipment including cutters, folders, and saddle stitchers.
+ Load/unload paper, monitor print quality and machine performance, and report any issues.
+ Monitor and adjust print settings for accurate color, registration, and consistency.
+ Organize, sort, and package direct mail jobs with variable data components.
+ Inspect printed and finished materials for defects, alignment, and consistency with quality standards.
+ Perform regular quality control checks to ensure production meets specifications.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization in the print and bindery areas.
+ Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently.
+ Follow job tickets and specifications to ensure accurate job execution.
+ Operate pallet jacks and other material handling tools to transport stock and finished goods.
+ Adhere to all company safety policies and operational procedures.
Requirements
+ Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain printing and finishing equipment.
+ Ability to multitask and work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate job setup, quality output, and proper finishing.
+ Manual dexterity for handling paper stock, operating presses, and handling finished products.
+ Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
+ Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ Prior exposure to a print shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment a plus.
+ Understanding of color calibration, print quality standards, and finishing processes.
+ Familiarity with direct mail and variable data concepts.
+ Knowledge of paper types, coatings, and finishing techniques.
Physical Demands:Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous vision. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized load. Frequent reaching, twisting, and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during routine machine maintenance.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday. 1st shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; 2nd shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; 3rd shift is 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Weekend hours may be required during peak production times. This position typically works 40-50 hours per week.
The pay range for this position is$17-$24per hour. Compensation is dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
