    Job Description

    Position Purpose:

    Responsible for working on Household hazardous waste collection events or events similar in nature. Responsible for maintaining a professional image while adhering to all VESTS Health and Safety policies and procedures.

    Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

    + Unload materials from vehicles, trucks and pick-ups.

    + Able to recognize potentially dangerous situations relating to chemical handling.

    + Able to consistently follow all compliance, health and safety, and procedures in accordance with departmental and regional policies.

    + Fosters a proper company image to customers regular interaction in a professional manner.

    + Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team in a changing job environment.

    + Work in a safe manner.

    + Segregation of chemicals into packaging categories or DOT hazard classes.

    + Ability to differentiate and consolidate similar materials while wearing respiratory protection.

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience / Background:

    + High School Diploma required

    + Hazardous waste experience preferred

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    + Ability to act in a professional manner at all times

    + Strong team player

    + Ability to effectively follow direction

    + Ability to work in a changing job environment

    Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

    + A valid Driver's License

    + 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred
