SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Senior Sourcing Specialist supports uninterrupted production by leading:
+ NPI Sourcing - owns and leads the plan for every part (PFEP) for NPIs and ensures compliance with purchasing processes as they work with product engineering, product management and other critical functional areas. This role works closely with engineering, product management, and planning to align supplier capabilities, negotiate pricing, and track launch milestones. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.
+ Strategic Souring CI: owns and leads the souring of parts in support of bullet #1 and souring to support commodities shifted from poor performing suppliers to new or existing capable suppliers to reduce business continuity exposure supported by Supplier Quality, Internal Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and other functional areas to ensure a smooth transition
The Senior Sourcing Specialist helps to ensure team goals, high performance and team productivity. This position will work closely with the purchasing manager, buyers, as well as the production planners to help manage uninterrupted plant operation due to purchased components. This job will also be responsible for supplier surveillance and development activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to ensure all processes are followed for requesting new purchased parts
+ Serve as a liaison between engineering/product management and suppliers to align on capability needs and part specifications
+ Negotiate pricing and terms for new parts while ensuring compliance with Kimber’s purchasing policies and procedures
+ Ensure all required NDAs are executed prior to the disclosure of proprietary or design-related information
+ Track and manage key milestones for new part launches, including first article inspections, capability lots, and production start dates
+ Ensure supplier commitments on timing and deliverables are clearly documented, communicated, and achieved
+ Establish and maintain accurate lead times in the system; proactively identify obstacles to schedule adherence and escalate as needed
+ Maintain open order reports, expedite deliveries as needed, and ensure PO lines reflect current status
+ Work with receiving and inventory control to ensure receipts align with PO expectations
+ Monitor supplier performance metrics such as on-time delivery, responsiveness, and quality
+ Investigate and resolve issues related to shortages, quality concerns, and invoicing discrepancies
+ Support make-or-buy decisions and supplier sourcing evaluations
+ Participate in internal production and planning meetings to remain aligned with priorities and upcoming needs
+ Assist in supplier development efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
+ Perform other duties as assigned

+ Focused with a keen eye for detail with strong analytical & numerical skills
+ Solid planning, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills
+ Strong facilitation skills to lead projects and engage suppliers through the sourcing process.
+ Strong working knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process, MRP/ERP Systems (Infor Visual experience a plus)
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines
+ Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
+ Excellent computer skills including MS Office and Excel
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
+ Strong organizational and time management skills
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
+ Minimum 4 year degree from an accredited college or university
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supply chain management and/or manufacturing procurement environment focused on metal/ alloy part acquisition
+ Ability to travel when required

COMPUTER SKILLS
Required knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience is a plus. Familiarity utilizing email, ERP and Computerized Inventory System.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of the job the employee works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Personal protective equipment will be used frequently.
