The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Department Specific Functions
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team. The two-year position (renewable, contingent on performance and funding) will work under the mentorship of Dr. Fei Ye on to conduct quantitative research on development and application of statistical/bioinformatic methodology to healthcare-derived data with a focus on cancer research. Applicants are asked to provide (i) a cover letter describing research interests, (ii) a CV, (iii) names/contact information for three references.
Start date is flexible in 2025-2026. Salary and benefits are commensurate with NIH/NSF guidelines and institutional policy.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assists Dr. Ye in designing research projects, including the formulation of hypotheses, the development of methodologies, and the submission of applications for grant funding.
+ Conducts comprehensive statistical analyses. Implements bioinformatic pipelines and performs data analysis for omics studies, including genotype data, bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data, high-dimensional phenotype data, pathway and functional analysis, network analysis, polygenic risk score derivation and validation, and other relevant analyses.
+ Develops R or Python scripts for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques, ensuring reproducibility and efficiency. Implements and optimizes computing workflows using high-performance computing clusters.
+ Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations, present findings at internal meetings and international conferences.
Department Specific Qualifications
Education:
+ PhD in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related quantitative field awarded within the last five years.
Experience:
+ Strong foundation in statistical theory; ability to derive and clearly communicate methodological results.
+ Advanced R and/or Python programming skills in statistical analysis, simulation, and computation.
+ Demonstrated publication record in statistical methodology and applied biomedical research, with evidence of independent scientific writing.
+ Experience analyzing multi‑omics datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) for biomarker discovery and validation.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
+ Statistical Analysis (Expert): Expertise in causal inference, machine learning, and Baysian methods.
+ Bioinformatic Analysis (Advanced): Proficiency in large-scale omics data analysis and relevant bioinformatics tools alongside integrative multi-omics pipelines.
+ Programming (Expert): Extensive R/Python coding experience with proficiency in RStudio, RMarkdown, and common Bioconductor packages.
+ Computing (Advanced): Experience with Linux servers and computing cluster.
+ Communication (Proficient): Ability to clearly communicate complex statistical concepts and research projects to interdisciplinary teams, and present at conferences, workshops, and internal meetings
