    *The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) in the School of Medicine (SOM)*is recruiting for a*Senior Professional Development & Education Support Specialist*. This position is necessary to support accounts processing activities of the*OFAPD in the School of Medicine (SOM)*. This role includes activities such as account processing of continuing medical education (CME) registration payments/exhibitor/commercial support fees are paid through CloudCME, execution of all CME financial transactions related to approval of CME courses, reconciliation of CME Course files, use of CME State Credit Card, and other account processing tasks. This position will serve to allow CME to be offered under the Executive Director for Professional Development and Education. Other relevant assignments include but are not limited to providing administrative support to three Deans within OFAPD, such as maintaining the OFAPD budget, assistance with the executive of relevant programs [New Faculty Orientation], booking travel arrangements for OFPD faculty in CONCUR and assistance with the Annual Faculty Awards Ceremony. Support of all relevant activities associated with enhancing faculty professionalism and development is another key aspect of this job. Working with key programs that enhance faculty honors, such as Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM), American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI) and Association of American Physicians (AAP) are examples. Assistance with crucial aspects of Institutional grants submissions, such as completion of relevant tables, collection of relevant letters of support, and other administrative tasks associated with grants submissions will be required. *Benefits (Exempt Regular): * UMB offers a comprehensive benefits package that prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along with additional exciting perks that employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. * *Primary Duties:* * In collaboration with management, plan, administer, and coordinate new or revised professional development and education programs for faculty. Ensure that goals, objectives, and deliverables specified are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time and funding limitations, or other specifications. * Independently coordinates the day-to-day activities and events of the course, workshop, or conference. Provide advanced administrative support to management. Evaluate effectiveness in order to develop and implement new or improved methods. * Leads the development and implementation of communication and dissemination strategies, including providing oversight to social marketing strategy, making media appearances, and maintaining content on website. * Perform specialized administrative and academic functions, including data analysis, program coordination and monitoring, data collection, database creation, surveys, reports, and recommends program changes. * Monitor and maintain relationships with contractors or consultants to ensure compliance with work plan and deliverables. * Leads the preparation of final program and financial reports for submission to management or outside agencies to include reporting on work of University of Maryland, all subcontractors, and applicable consultants regarding operation of the programs. * Prepares grant proposals/submissions for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors. * Develop and coordinate workshops, meetings, or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants. Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications. * Coordinates program activities through delegation of assignments to staff. May supervise and mentor other support staff. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Three (3) years of administrative/coordinator program experience. *Supervisory Experience:*One (1) year in work coordination, training, and daily oversight of staff, students, or volunteers preferred. *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
