Estimator (Novato)

This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the successful delivery of competitive bids—particularly in the K-12 and public works sectors.

Key Responsibilities

+ Develop conceptual, budgetary, and GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) estimates.

+ Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.

+ Lead subcontractor outreach efforts and participate in job walks.

+ Ensure timely submission of proposals and bids.

+ Analyze and evaluate subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness.

+ Define scopes of work, project schedules, and procurement strategies.

+ Prepare competitive lump sum bids.

+ Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments.

+ Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and design teams throughout the preconstruction phase.

Required Skills & Competencies

+ Estimating and cost analysis

+ Project and construction management

+ Preconstruction planning

+ K-12 and public works project experience

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to interpret construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings

+ Knowledge of unit costs, subcontractor risk factors, and construction contracts

+ Spreadsheet modeling and project scheduling

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
