• Senior Accountant (Part Time Contract)

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a Part-Time Accountant to join our team for approximately 25 hours per week to cover a 10-week contract. The role involves managing lease accounting, preparing and posting month-end journal entries, assisting with sales tax filings, and supporting various close processes. This position offers flexibility and an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage lease accounting, including lease payments, reconciliations, and property/real estate tax tracking.

    + Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to merchant processing, fixed assets, prepaid insurance, and prepaid contracts.

    + Assist with sales tax filings as time permits.

    + Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

    + Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.

    + Prepare financial statements and variance analyses.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.

    + Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Qualifications:

    + Proficiency in accounting and general ledger reconciliation.

    + Experience with month-end processes and journal entries.

    + Strong skills in financial statement preparation and financial reporting.

    + Ability to handle accounts payable and accounts receivable.

    + Competence in using functions like Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

    + Self-starter with problem-solving abilities.

    + Experience with leases and fixed assets.

    + Familiarity with any ERP system.

    + No degree requirement, but an Associate’s degree is considered a plus.

    Work Environment:

    The role is based in an office environment with a friendly, collaborative, and hardworking team. The team values productivity and mutual support. The team includes five members, such as the VP of Finance and Director of Accounting. The position requires 25 hours per week with flexibility, especially during month-end, where hours may increase to roughly 30 hours. There is no hard schedule, and work is not expected on Fridays. The role suits bubbly personalities who care about their work and each other.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
