Job Title: Sr Manager, Global Digital Engineering Platforms
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Digital Engineering, the Sr Manager, Global Digital Engineering Platforms provides operational leadership and supports the strategic direction of key digital systems that enable engineering and maintenance functions across the organization. This role leads Tier 1 support teams for the Global Maintenance and Reliability System (GMARS)—the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)—and the Global Engineering Content Management System (GECMS). The individual also serves as the System Owner for GECMS, ensuring its validated implementation and ongoing maintenance across all global sites.
Additionally, the manager provides global oversight of Drawing Coordinators and contributes to continuous improvement, talent development, and change management initiatives. The role collaborates closely with Quality, aligns with Tech @ Lilly, and engages in external benchmarking to drive digital innovation and system excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead global GMARS (IBM Maximo) Tier support team to ensure performance, enhancements, and support.
+ Serve as System Owner for GECMS, overseeing validated implementation, governance, and compliance globally.
+ Guide business and IT teams to maintain GECMS in a validated state and resolve cross-site issues.
+ Drive alignment and collaboration with broader Digital Manufacturing Engineering organization
+ Oversee GECMS integration with engineering workflows and drawing management.
+ Lead Drawing Coordinators to standardize and control engineering drawing quality and lifecycle.
+ Ensure drawing practices align with document management standards and compliance requirements.
+ Develop and implement team objectives supporting enterprise and customer priorities.
+ Promote best-in-class digital engineering practices to influence organizational change.
+ Collaborate with Quality teams to align system capabilities and future platform directions.
+ Benchmark with customers and industry peers to adopt best practices and enhance systems.
+ Build strategic partnerships with Tech @ Lilly for system alignment and support.
+ Manage performance reviews, coaching, and development for direct reports.
+ Lead internal and contract resources with effective planning and management.
+ Monitor system processes and business metrics for operational effectiveness.
+ Present KPIs and trends to senior leadership to identify improvement opportunities.
+ Develop processes to enhance customer collaboration and capability development.
+ Manage vendor relationships and contracts for GMARS and GECMS services.
+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Quality, IT, and Operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years’ equivalent experience in engineering, IT, or related fields.
+ Proven leadership of global teams, vendor management, and system validation.
+ Expertise in maintenance/reliability systems (GMARS/Maximo, SAP PM) and document management.
+ Knowledge of engineering docs, CAD, and drawing management.
Preferred:
+ Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing industries.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$96,000 - $140,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
