Job Title: Assistant Resident Engineer – Wastewater

Schedule: On-site, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Project: NYCDEP BWT Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Resident Engineer to support the daily oversight of wastewater infrastructure construction. This role is critical to ensuring that all activities align with project specifications, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. You will work closely with the Resident Engineer and a multidisciplinary team to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

+ Support the Resident Engineer in managing day-to-day construction operations.

+ Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards.

+ Conduct regular site inspections and quality control tests to maintain construction integrity.

+ Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

+ Track project milestones and facilitate timely communication across teams.

+ Maintain comprehensive documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and progress updates.

+ Identify and troubleshoot construction challenges with practical, innovative solutions.

+ Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience on large-scale Wastewater Treatment Plant or industrial construction projects.

+ Familiarity with NYCDEP standards and plant operations.

+ Broad experience across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines.

+ Strong understanding of structural foundations in WWTP or industrial settings.

+ EIT certification with a clear path toward obtaining PE licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site at the NYCDEP BWT WWTP project. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes inspectors, field engineers, construction managers, and Resident Engineers. The role is field-based and requires a hands-on approach in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.30/hr.
