POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Sr. VP, Chief Operating Officer, the Sr. Director of Quality Resources will ensure Signature Healthcare exceeds benchmarks for quality and improves upon quality when benchmarks are unavailable, and will oversee the comprehensive quality and patient safety programs for Signature Healthcare. In collaboration with system and local health administrative and clinical leadership, the Sr. Director will provide leadership in the conceptualization, development, and improvement of Signature Healthcare’s approach to clinical effectiveness, patient safety and adverse event reduction. The Sr, Director will be responsible chairing the Quality Improvement Committee, reporting patient safety and quality data, following up on any medical errors and patient safety matters and for training to acquire underlying knowledge, skills and competencies for creating safe healthcare environments. The Sr. Director will be the Signature Healthcare expert resource related to clinical safety, regulatory and performance improvement and activities related to accreditation. He/she oversees the evidence-based medicine program, peer review support processes, and medical records.
The Sr. Director works in collaboration with Senior Team members, physician leadership, managers, finance, and nursing leadership to establish yearly performance goals for the service, which is aligned with the vision and mission of Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
The Sr. Director will play a key role in the following:
+ demonstrating the business case for clinical excellence;
+ operationalizing a common outcomes measurement and reporting system across Signature Healthcare;
+ developing and implementing programs to address opportunities associated with clinical decision support in the measurement of clinical practices;
+ populating the Signature Healthcare data repository with clinical efficiency and effectiveness measures while efficiently and effectively facilitating improved analysis, enhanced reporting, expanded clinical activities, and follow up related to medical errors and patient safety matters;
+ support clinical outcomes, and patient safety that are above benchmark levels.
The Sr. Director will also provide for the development of programs and activities designed to ensure that Signature Healthcare incorporates methods to improve the safe administration of care into all clinical processes, while developing a culture that perceives safety to be of paramount importance. In this regard, the Sr. Director will facilitate communication of information about systemic organizational vulnerabilities, promote education, and develop programs to help analyze the human, organizational, and system factors which contribute to adverse events.
