    Job Summary:

    The Faculty Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent to SUNY Upstate Medical University Department of Medicine. This position plays a critical role in identifying, engaging, and hiring academic professionals who support the institutions mission of excellence in teaching, research and service. The Specialist partners closely with academic leadership, department chair, and human resources colleagues to ensure a seamless and equitable hiring process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Collaborate with deans office, department chair, division chiefs, and search committees to define faculty staffing needs and recruitment plans.

    + Manage full-cycle recruitment processes for faculty positions across the department of medicine.

    + Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to attract a diverse and highly qualified pool of faculty candidates.

    + Coordinate job postings across internal and external platforms, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

    + Serve as a strategic advisor to search committees, offering guidance on inclusive hiring practices and recruitment best practices.

    + Screen CVs and applications, conduct initial outreach to potential candidates, and schedule interviews.

    + Build and maintain a pipeline of academic talent for future hiring needs.

    + Analyze hiring data and trends to inform recruitment strategies and improve outcomes.

    + Represent the institution at academic conferences, job fairs, and networking events.

    + Ensure a positive candidate experience from application through onboarding.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field and 2 years related experience. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Excellent oral and written communication skills, competency in appropriate computer software applications, and good organizational skills.
