Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Electro-Mechanically focused Field Service Technician to join our dynamic field service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for start-ups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of automated machinery in the field. You will work alongside a Field Service Controls Engineer on site, assisting with mechanical tasks, and providing training to clients on the usage of their machinery. This role requires traveling up to 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% spent in the office. A comprehensive in-house training program lasting up to three months will be provided before traveling independently.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and start-ups of automated packaging machinery.

+ Travel consecutively for service calls and start-ups, providing training to clients on machinery usage.

+ Collaborate with the Field Service Controls Engineer on site to assist with mechanical tasks.

+ Ensure all electrical schematics are interpreted accurately using AutoCAD.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience in Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI Programming.

+ Proficient in PLC code and motion controls.

+ Experience with electrical/controls aspects of machine design, knowledge of industrial automation practices.

+ Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, both domestically and occasionally internationally.

+ Literate in using AutoCAD for electrical schematic interpretation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

+ Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks Electrical.

+ Customer service-oriented attitude.

Work Environment

This position involves working primarily in food and industrial product packaging facilities, which are generally very clean environments. The role requires extensive travel, with accommodations and transportation costs fully covered by the company. Candidates may use their own car for local travel, with mileage and tolls reimbursed. Out-of-state service calls will include a rental car option.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
