Description
+ Position Summary
+ Provides hands-on technical support to engineering teams in the areas of electronic testing, planning, and the design and development of control systems for automated machinery.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, build, and implement electrical systems for automated equipment, including full PLC-based control systems and robotic integration.
+ Perform safety evaluations of system designs and develop electrical safety features for tools and components used in research and development.
+ Support R&D initiatives by interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures, and test configurations.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues such as sensor alignment, control panel wiring, PLC connectivity, and general electrical faults.
+ Develop and execute testing protocols using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes to assess system and component performance under real-world conditions, with a focus on quality, standardization, and optimization.
+ Create electrical schematics and documentation using engineering design software.
+ Program PLCs using Relay Ladder Logic and related tools; develop HMI interfaces and configure associated hardware.
+ Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, including PLC code, schematics, and engineering records.
+ Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems within machinery.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret complex technical and business documents, including scientific literature, procedures, policies, and legal materials. Must be able to write clearly and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
Proficient in applying advanced mathematical concepts to solve technical challenges.
Analytical Skills
Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
Technical Proficiency
Experienced in using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, waveform generators, programmable power supplies, and adaptable to learning new testing equipment.
Certifications/Licenses
Not required.
Physical Requirements
+ Frequent use of hands and arms.
+ Must have adequate depth perception, hearing, speech, and color vision.
+ Ability to lift up to 30 pounds to a height of 3 feet, twice daily.
+ Work Environment
+ Primarily indoor work with stable temperatures and moderate noise levels.
Additional Skills
+ Experience with robotic integration and machine design programming is preferred.
+ Familiarity with platforms such as Direct Logic, Do-more, and C-more.
+ Ability to create technical documentation, including specifications, work instructions, and maintenance manuals.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $45.67/hr.
