Job Title: Lead Medical Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Medical Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for an experienced technologist looking to advance into a leadership position. You will be responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative analyses on specimens received in the laboratory, ensuring precision and accuracy in all testing procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received for the assigned station.

+ Understand the principles of tests performed and have a working knowledge of equipment used.

+ Ensure all specimens are stored appropriately.

+ Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.

+ Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify them, and report to the appropriate clinician.

+ Document all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Essential Skills

+ NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology.

+ 6+ years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with a New York State license.

+ Experience in chemistry and hematology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ ASCP certification is preferred but not required.

+ Experience in clinical laboratory, blood bank, and medical technology.

Work Environment

+ The position is located in a hospital medical laboratory, staffed with over 30 Medical Laboratory Technologists on each shift.

+ The departments include Microbiology, Blood Bank, General Lab, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urology.

+ The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering a competitive salary, growth opportunities, and benefits including holiday and vacation pay.

The available shifts are overnight from 11 PM to 7:30 AM or from 12 PM to 8:30 AM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $66.00/hr.
