    Job Title: Engineering ManagerJob Description

     

    The Engineering Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for directing and overseeing the design and development of engineering projects within the Well Construction & Completions (WCC) and Downhole Intervention Systems (DIS) sectors. This individual will lead a team of engineers to deliver innovative solutions, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The role demands a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of engineering principles.

    Responsibilities

    + Create detailed design specifications and engineering drawings for new products and systems.

    + Develop and test prototypes to ensure design feasibility and performance standards are met.

    + Conduct research and analysis to establish the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of components and systems.

    + Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, CAD models, and technical reports.

    + Ensure all design changes and updates are accurately documented and communicated.

    + Develop and implement designs and design strategies that improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining product quality.

    + Lead and manage the design engineering team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

    + Coordinate with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, and quality assurance to align project goals and deliverables.

    + Conduct regular design reviews and technical evaluations to ensure project milestones are met and design specifications are adhered to.

    + Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless transition from design to production.

    + Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into design processes.

    + Prepare and manage budgets for the design engineering department, monitoring expenditures to stay within financial targets.

    + Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design engineering department to enhance productivity and product performance.

    + Provide technical support and expertise to other departments as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's degree preferred.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering.

    + Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex design projects.

    + Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles, design methodologies, and industry standards.

    + Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

    + Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.

    + Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and processes.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

    + Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

    + Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in the oil and gas industry.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with ERP systems.

    Work Environment

    The candidate will work alongside the VP of Engineering and oversee two junior engineers on site. The organization will provide all necessary equipment needed for the role.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $68.00/hr.
