    Department Summary

    The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding student-athlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence, both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 280 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.

    Position Summary

    In collaboration with the Chief Health Officer, responsible for organization and administration of autonomous healthcare delivery for student athletes. Reports to an Associate Director of Athletic Medicine with oversight from the Director of Athletic Medicine. Responsible for promoting the mission and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, BIG Ten Conference and the NCAA.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Master’s degree and current BOCATC certification.

    • Eligible for Oregon licensure as an athletic trainer.

    Professional Competencies

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare delivery team.

    • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

    • Ability to work effectively with others from diverse backgrounds while promoting inclusion and supporting diverse needs of individuals.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1 year of athletic training experience at Division I university.

    • Advanced clinical skills to support Athletic Healthcare.

    • Experience providing direction and oversight of healthcare delivery in a high-performance athletics environment.
