Job Overview:** The **General** **Foreman** is responsible for directing and leading crews of workers on a project. The General Foremen is also responsible for managing all aspects of the crew's work including planning, production and monitoring performance. The General Foreman reports to the Project Superintendent and/or Project Manager. We are hiring multiple positions for various projects; per diem and schedules are dependent on project assignment. **Travelers are welcome to apply.

Job Functions:

+ Assist in managing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs.

+ Lead tailgate meetings, conduct inspections, and perform preliminary accident/incident investigations.

+ Plan, organize, and assign work to manpower crews, ensuring conformance to quality and safety standards.

+ Manage the storage, security, and maintenance of specific tools and manuals.

+ Produce Supervisor Daily Work Plans and communicate goals to crews.

+ Provide input on cost-saving methods related to manpower, scheduling, and materials.

+ Manage, receive, and report materials used on site.

+ Monitor crew productivity, track man hours and materials for work performed.

+ Complete employee review forms for hourly trades crew members.

+ Supervise one or more project crews, providing guidance, training, and mentoring.

+ Assisting the Project Superintendent in the supervision of subcontractors

+ Identifying high potential employees and encouraging their career development through mentoring and reporting to the Project Superintendent

Qualifications:

+ Minimum 5 years of industry experience.

+ At least 18 months working as a General Foreman.

+ Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

+ Compliance with all PCL policies, procedures, and safety rules.

+ Pass a pre-employment physical examination, DOT and/or Non-DOT drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Skills

+ Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.

+ Ability to understand and interpret construction drawing and specifications.

+ Basic math and measurement skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).

+ Computer savvy.

Physical Requirements:

+ Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces above- or below-ground level, such as: towers, vessels, scaffolding, excavations, etc.

+ Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials without assistance.

+ Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
