The anticipated salary range for this role is between $200,000.00 and $265,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Executive Director will lead the team that drives and executes strategic initiatives and transformation efforts within the Cash Management business, with a particular focus on ensuring business readiness for the project’s go-live. This includes ownership of pricing and billing strategy, operational process documentation, policy and procedure readiness, risk mitigation planning, and the development of operational metrics and monitoring frameworks.
This role works closely with senior leadership, technology, operations, and product teams to ensure seamless execution and adoption of change initiatives. The Executive Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders to align business objectives with execution plans and ensure delivery of scalable, compliant, and competitive cash management solutions.
Role Objectives: Delivery
Lead business readiness efforts for the Cash Management platform go-live, ensuring all operational, procedural, and risk-related components are in place ahead of launch.
• Oversee execution of readiness plans across pricing and billing strategy, operational process documentation, policy and procedure alignment, and risk mitigation.
• Define and implement operational metrics and monitoring frameworks to support post-go-live performance and control sustainability.
• Leverage data analysis to identify readiness gaps, track progress against key milestones, and inform decision-making across workstreams.
• Coordinate closely with product, technology, operations, and risk teams to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of new capabilities.
• Identify and resolve cross-functional issues that could impact delivery, client experience, or operational integrity.
• Attract, develop, and retain top talent within the transformation team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Role Objectives: Interpersonal
Build strong relationships with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to understand business needs and secure buy-in.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to co-create solutions and drive alignment.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on change impacts, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies.
• Act as a liaison between business, technology, and operations to ensure cohesive execution of change initiatives.
• Champion a culture of transparency, agility, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Role Objectives: Expertise
10+ years of experience in change management, transformation, or program leadership within financial services or consulting.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale change initiatives, preferably in cash management or transaction banking.
• Deep understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) and project delivery frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop actionable insights and strategies.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project and change management tools is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
