    Job Title: Marine Equipment Technician

    • _Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Contract Position)_

     

    About the Role

     

    We are looking for a skilled Marine Equipment Technician with hands-on experience in ship repair and maintenance. This role involves working with complex marine systems and providing technical support for shipboard equipment in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify marine equipment and systems.

    + Provide technical support and perform maintenance on shipboard systems and related software/hardware.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.

    + Interpret and apply technical documentation, including blueprints, manuals, and controlled work packages.

    + Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and lead small teams when needed.

    + Prepare and deliver reports, schedules, and briefings to customers and senior leadership.

    + Perform tasks outside of core specialty to support broader installation and repair efforts.

    Required Skills & Experience

    + Strong knowledge of marine systems and ship repair.

    + Hands-on experience with:

    + Valves

    + Electrical systems

    + Hydraulics

    + Diesel engines

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.

    + Familiarity with power tools and precision measurement devices.

    + Understanding of safety and quality control standards.

    Qualifications

    + U.S. Citizenship required.

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

    + Experience in structural and mechanical system installation and repair.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain:

    + DoD security clearance

    + Base access credentials (within 60 days of hire)

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
