Job Title: Cable Technician - $20-27/hr. (Based on Experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician who is capable of working in a dynamic environment, focused on cable installation and maintenance. This role involves assisting higher-level technicians, running materials, and utilizing various tools to ensure efficient cable operations.

Responsibilities

+ Pull and install Cat5, Cat6, copper, and fiber cables through pathways.

+ Assist Cable Tech 2 with material handling and installations.

+ Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices.

+ Oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling.

+ Operate hand/power tools and equipment, such as cable cutters, hammer drills, and compression tools.

+ Climb ladders and work comfortably at heights.

Essential Skills

+ 0-4 years of experience in telecom or cable installation.

+ Strong ability to terminate and test copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6).

+ Experience pulling fiber cables and installing cable trays.

+ Ability to lift 75 lbs.

+ Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and project documents.

+ Knowledge of universal communications color codes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Valid driver's license.

+ OSHA Lift Certification.

+ Comfortable working with fiber optic cables and utilizing scissor lifts.

Work Environment

The position is based at a major data center in Temple, TX, involved in a 3-year project with ample growth opportunities. The work schedule is from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Employees are required to wear ASTM F2413 steel toe or composite boots to ensure safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Temple, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
