Tractor Trailer Mechanic

Currently hiring Tractor/Trailer Mechanics in the Minooka, IL area. Hiring immediately.

**Shift:** 2nd/3rd shift.

+ 2pm-10pm or 10pm-7am

Job Description

+ Perform preventative and reactive repairs to tractors and trailers.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance including lube, filters, tire inspections, oil changes, and wheel seals.

+ Replace engine components such as alternators, starters, drive cams, brakes, springs, and more.

+ Conduct MIG/Stick welding as needed.

+ Utilize a torch and grinder as required.

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using a laptop.

+ Track work progress through internal Transman (TMT) software.

+ 5+ years' experience performing maintenance on trailers or semis.

+ Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop.

+ Experience with clutches, brakes, wheel seals, and suspension.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in MIG/Stick welding.

+ Experience working on refrigeration units.

+ Refrigeration License.

Work Environment

The work environment includes terminals for trailer and tractor maintenance. This non-union shop services refrigerated and dry-van fleets. The facilities are small, with 2-3 bays, requiring work both inside and outside. Employees must provide their own steel-toed boots, while other safety gear is provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
