    Job Title: Parts Breakdown Specialist

    Job Description

    This role involves removing cut parts from large sheets of steel, aluminum, and other metals. It requires repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods. When not engaged in this primary task, employees will perform various duties throughout the warehouse.

    Responsibilities

    + Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.

    + Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks or customer vehicles, and help maintain warehouse upkeep.

    + Receive and place or return items into stock inventory locations.

    + Pull and assemble orders based on work or shipping orders or other documentation.

    + Tag materials for proper identification and complete all required documentation.

    + Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using forklifts, side loaders, or cranes.

    + Operate yard trucks for loading and unloading trailers.

    + Maintain work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

    + Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code.

    + Conduct spot checks on inventory and complete daily or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.

    + Report irregularities to supervisors for direction.

    + Restock materials.

    + Occasionally drive motor vehicles (non-DOT trucks) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups.

    + Adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

    + Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + High School diploma or GED preferred.

    + Valid Driver’s License required.

    + Certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.

    + Trade school certification in electrical, HVAC, and/or plumbing preferred.

    + Technical aptitude and basic knowledge of mechanics.

    + Working knowledge of electromechanical systems, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

    + Adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multilimbed coordination.

    + Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.

    + Basic measurement skills for taking, converting, and using measurements of length, width, height, and weight.

    + Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.

    + Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.

    + Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

    + Sound decision-making skills based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.

    + Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, internal customers, and vendors.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
