Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician $28-32/hour

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the physical upkeep and repair of assigned buildings. You will utilize work order related software programs to complete tasks efficiently, respond to emergencies, and assist in maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, and inventories. You will also aid in implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and help control expenses associated with building operations.

Responsibilities

+ Complete work orders for tasks related to building maintenance and repairs using software programs.

+ Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol.

+ Assist in establishing and maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, inventories, and logs.

+ Implement and maintain records for a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan.

+ Assist with controlling expenses associated with building operations.

+ Act professionally and courteously with tenants, clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients.

+ Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, and other equipment.

+ Handle electrical wiring and installation for outlets, furniture, fans, and other fixtures.

+ Perform painting, carpentry, flooring, and plumbing tasks.

+ Conduct minor appliance repairs and furniture assembly.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in plumbing including changing fixtures, toilets, faucets, sinks, and unclogging sink or toilet lines.

+ Electrical skills including changing receptacles, light switches, troubleshooting, resetting breakers, and changing light bulbs.

+ Experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting.

+ Basic HVAC skills, mainly resetting units and using building control automations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of Trane Tracer controls and systems.

Work Environment

The primary property is located at 125 Doughty Street, Suite 160, Charleston, SC. Covering a total of 4 properties within a 15-mile travel range, mileage is reimbursed. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an on-call rotation every other week. On-call work is paid only if called in, with a 2-hour minimum at the standard rate, and mileage is reimbursed. The frequency of on-call work varies from none to 2-3 times per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
