About this Job
This vacancy may be filled as a promotion or detail to special duty of a current permanent employee of DOTD. Current permanent employees may be required to accept a probational appointment in lieu of a promotion
The purpose of this position is to operate an asphalt paver (laydown machine).
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in mobile equipment operations.
Note: A valid Louisiana Class "A" CDL is required upon appointment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Operate, maintain, and make minor repairs to an asphalt paver.
Operate equipment enumated for lower graded equipment operators when necessary and train lower level operators in the safe and proficient operation of equipment.
Operate and maintain other equipment and utilize hand tools and small equipment as needed.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: P romotion or Detail to Special Duty of a current permanent employee of DOTD.
Career Progression: This position will be filled as an MEO 2/Heavy and does not participate in a CPG.
Work Schedule:Work hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Compensation: The minimum rate of compensation for this position is $22.52/hr .
