    Job Title: Cleared Marine Electrician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a 1st Class Marine Electrician with an active secret security clearance or one obtained within the last 24 months. The role involves performing repair and overhaul tasks on submarines. Candidates must provide their own personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. No medical qualifications are necessary for this position.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform repairs and overhauls on submarines.

    + Ensure all electrical systems are functioning correctly and comply with safety standards.

    + Utilize trade mathematics to calculate voltage, amperes, and resistance requirements.

    + Determine the size and types of materials needed for each project, such as controls, switches, distribution panels, fuses, cables, and conduits.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to plan and create working diagrams and circuits.

    + Use a variety of electrical and electronic measuring instruments to conduct tests and ensure system integrity.

    Essential Skills

    + Active secret security clearance or one obtained within the last 24 months.

    + Six years of experience as a Marine Electrician or a licensed Marine Electrician Journeyman.

    + Proficiency in trade mathematics and formulas for electrical calculations.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals.

    + Comprehensive knowledge of various electrical measuring instruments.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma, GED equivalent, or graduation from a trade, industrial, or military school.

     

    Work Environment

     

    Work will be conducted at a shipyard, specifically at HII. The position does not require specific licenses or certifications. Candidates must provide their own PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

    This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
