    The pay range is $113,000.00 - $203,000.00

     

    Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.     About the role:

    As a Lead Communications Designer within UX Operations, you’ll be responsible for shaping and driving an executive-level communication strategy that clearly tells the story of UX and our impact across Target. You will develop narratives, business cases, and strategic communications that translate the value of UX into clear, compelling language for senior leaders and stakeholders.

     

    You will also lead communication efforts around key internal and external moments that reflect the maturity, evolution, and innovation of the UX practice--from large scale team events to quarterly business reviews to major milestones that require strong change management and organizational storytelling.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop and execute a tiered communication strategy that ensures clarity and engagement across different groups, partners and stakeholders.

    + Develop and lead an executive communication strategy that positions UX as a driver of business value and innovation at Target.

    + Design visually compelling, high-impact presentations that support strategic storytelling and influence decision-making at the highest levels.

    + Support change communication as UX matures and evolves, helping teams understand new models, capabilities, and ways of working.

    + Craft case studies that demonstrate the value and impact of UX initiatives, ensuring key decisions are supported by clear, data-driven storytelling.

    + Ensure consistency and alignment in messaging across various communication channels (e.g., email, internal portals, presentations, town halls, events).

    + Collaborate with UX leadership, HR, and cross-functional partners to drive org-wide transparency and engagement.

    + Drive adoption of best practices in communication strategy, advocating for clarity, inclusivity, and effectiveness in UX team communications.

    + Leverage AI-powered content creation and summarization tools to enhance efficiency, scale communication effort.

    + Measure the effectiveness of communications and continuously optimize based on feedback and insights.

    About you:

    + 7+ years of experience in communications, content strategy, visual storytelling, or related fields, with a strong portfolio showcasing internal communication strategies and executive-facing content.

    + Exceptional ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives for multiple audiences.

    + Strong storytelling, writing, and editorial skills, with experience in crafting communications for multiple audiences

    + Proficiency in presentation design and storytelling tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Figma) with an eye for visual clarity and impact.

    + Experience managing internal communications and leading change management efforts at scale within a large, matrixed product organization.

    + Comfortable using AI-driven content generation tools to improve communication workflows, generate summaries, and enhance storytelling.

    + A strategic mindset with the ability to balance near-term needs and long-term vision for UX team communications.

    + Collaborative, flexible, and self-directed, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.

    + Exhibit a growth mindset, continuously iterating and improving communication approaches.

     

    This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
