Job Summary:
Keys Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care
+ Conduct comprehensive allergy and immunology evaluations for pediatric patients. Diagnose and manage conditions such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, urticaria and angioedema, anaphylaxis, primary immunodeficiency disorders
+ Document clinical encounters clearly and thoroughly in the electronic medical record. Review and interpret lab results, imaging, and specialty test results relevant to allergy and immunology.
Coordination and Collaboration
+ Coordinate care with primary care providers, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, and other specialists. Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency. Respond to clinical messages and patient portal inquiries in a timely manner.
Education and Quality Improvement
+ Educate families and caregivers on chronic disease self-management. Stay current with evolving guidelines and evidence-based practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Attend and contribute to department meetings, CME or case conferences when applicable

Instructor
+ MD or DO Degree
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Allergy and Immunology fellowship by hire date
+ Board certification in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
+ Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI)
Senior Instructor
+ MD or DO Degree
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Allergy and Immunology fellowship by hire date
+ Board certification in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
+ Board certification in Allergy and Immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI)
+ 5 or more years full time Pediatric Allergy clinical experience or Instructor ranking from another institution
Assistant Professor
+ MD or DO Degree
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
+ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Allergy and Immunology fellowship by hire date
+ Board certification in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
+ Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI)
Condition of Employment:
+ Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
+ _Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check_

_Preferred Qualifications:_
+ _Previous Epic experience_
+ _Two or more years of clinical experience providing outpatient allergy and immunology care to pediatric patients across a broad range of conditions_
+ _Demonstrated proficiency in outpatient procedures such as skin testing, drug challenges, and immunotherapy initiation_
_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_
+ _Knowledge of all pediatric allergy and immunology disorders_
+ _Excellent communications skills with children, families, and referring providers_
+ _Strong interest in working with multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with primary care and pediatric subspecialists_
+ _Commitment to patient education, family-centered care, and evidence-based practice_
+ _Interest or experience in quality improvement and medical student, resident, or fellow education_

**_Senior Instructor:_** _$210,000 to $280,000_
**_Assistant Professor:_** _$186,290 to $210,000_
_Compensation dependent on clinical productivity and years of experience. Eligible for annual clinical incentive based on clinical productivity._

The Section of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology of the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU SOM) is looking for a Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) Pediatric Allergist for a faculty position based in the Children's Hospital Colorado - Colorado Springs outpatient clinic. Primary responsibilities will include comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management of patients with pediatric allergy and immunology conditions. While this position in Colorado Springs is primarily clinical, candidates with academic interests will have teaching and quality improvement opportunities. A candidate who is more academically inclined to pursue teaching or research opportunities would be suited for the Assistant Professor ranking while a candidate with only a clinical interest would be better suited for the Instructor ranking. Compensation is dependent on clinical productivity and years of experience. The position is located in Colorado Springs and will provide oversight and direct care for patients with pediatric allergy and immunology conditions in the outpatient setting.
