Summary This vacancy is for a GS-0346-14, Logistics Mgmt Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MAJOR SYSTEMS ACQUISITION PRGM MGR -POLAR ICEBREAK -CG-9326. Responsibilities You will serve as a Logistics Mgmt Specialist with the Polar Security Cutter acquisition program and be responsible for providing expertise, oversight, and guidance in the development, execution and improvement of Coast Guard wide policy, procedures and functionality associated with the Polar Security Cutter Logistics Capability and Information Technology Life Cycle Management. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Coordinates and integrates work into an overall plan for logistics support; and identifies and updates staffing and personnel logistics support requirement. Facilitates the development of statements of work to acquire and utilize contractor support personnel in support of Division mission and achievement of goals. Facilitates and leads cross organizational working groups with US Navy, US Marine Corps, and other Department of Defense partners to ensure alignment of logistic functions and systems. Ensures program plans and milestones conform to current policy, procedures, and guidance. Provides guidance and assistance in the evaluation/ review of complex Logistics Information Technology program problems/issues. Develops plans of action and milestones and coordinates activities of other personnel participating in the assessments, which include stakeholders from other Directorates across the Coast Guard Headquarters and Operational Commands. Qualifications Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: To qualify at the GS- 14 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS- 13grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
