Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Structured Cabling Technicians with strong termination skills to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role involves working on high-impact infrastructure projects in healthcare and government environments. Candidates must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or under the guidance of a Senior Installer.

Key Responsibilities

+ Pull and route Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables per project specifications and manufacturer guidelines

+ Terminate and test cables using industry-standard tools and techniques

+ Assist with the installation of support structures and IT/network hardware (e.g., racks, j-hooks, servers)

+ Perform maintenance and low-voltage wiring tasks in hospital and healthcare settings

+ Follow safety protocols and site-specific rules at all times

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment

+ Meet or exceed daily production goals

+ Adhere to the “Do It Right The First Time” (DIRTFT) standard

Required Skills & Tools

+ Proficiency with cable pulling, termination, punchdown, and testing

+ Familiarity with Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling

+ Experience using hand tools such as snips, wire strippers, and punchdown tools

+ Must provide your own tools

+ Strong work ethic, initiative, and professionalism

+ Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential

+ Must comply with strict attendance policies

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience working on prevailing wage projects

+ Ability to think critically and adapt to new technologies

+ Interest in growing with a team focused on security and infrastructure solutions

Safety Requirements

+ Adherence to Jacobs Telephone Consultants (JTC) and client safety policies

+ Must wear a hard hat and safety glasses (can be provided if needed and returned after use)

+ Commitment to maintaining a “Safety First” attitude on all job sites

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
