The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the Dietary Department by performing essential work and cleaning routines. This position is available for both full-time and part-time schedules. Responsibilities include:

+ Carrying out defined work routines with various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.

+ Assisting the cook in meal preparation and service.

+ Ensuring timely meal and snack service.

+ Executing cleaning schedules and performing assigned cleaning duties diligently.

+ Helping with the preparation and serving of snacks, salads, and desserts.

+ Setting up the dining area and serving patients during meal times.

+ Conducting basic cleaning tasks in the kitchen.

+ Assisting in receiving and storing food supplies safely.

+ Completing side work and other opening/closing responsibilities.

+ Participating in departmental and in-service educational programs.

+ Adhering to safety codes while performing all duties.

+ Following sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.

+ Shifts are 4:30am - 3:00pm and/or 9:00am - 7:30pm

Requirements

+ Entry level position - training will be provided.

+ Previous experience in food service within a healthcare setting preferred.

+ Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.

+ Basic understanding of food service practices and nutrition.

+ Knowledge of safe food handling techniques preferred.

+ Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

+ Capable of working in varying environmental temperatures and settings.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and co-workers.

+ Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

+ Note: Pre-employment drug screening, to include testing for marijuana, is required upon job offer.
