    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Staff Physician 2, you will provide general medical care and treatment to residents of the Delaware Valley Veterans Home. This includes, but is not limited to, medical diagnosis, treatment or prescription of medical therapeutics or corrective measures, and writing orders and treatment plans to achieve and maintain the highest level of physical and mental health for our residents. Duties will be performed in accordance with current medical standards of practice, consistent with state and federal laws and regulations.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Part-time employment

    + Work hours will vary from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.

    Special Requirements:

    + Possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

    Other Requirements:

    + You must obtain and maintain an active registration to prescribe medication from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

    + PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.

    + You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:

    + A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

    + This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

    + Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
