Job Description:

As an Outside Plant (OSP) Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and expanding the physical infrastructure that supports the data center’s connectivity. This includes fiber optic networks, underground conduits, and aerial cabling systems. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our client's global network.

Daily Responsibilities:

Fiber Infrastructure Maintenance

+ Inspect, test, and repair fiber optic cables and splice enclosures

+ Perform routine audits of fiber routes and document any anomalies

+ Monitor signal integrity and troubleshoot transmission issues

Installation & Upgrades

+ Install new fiber lines, conduits, and related hardware

+ Assist with expansions of the outside plant network to support new server clusters

+ Coordinate with vendors and contractors for large-scale installations

Site Surveys & Documentation

+ Conduct field surveys to assess installation feasibility

+ Update network maps and asset tracking systems

+ Maintain accurate records of work orders, test results, and maintenance logs

Safety & Compliance

+ Follow strict safety protocols for working in confined spaces, heights, and around electrical systems

+ Ensure all work complies with local codes, environmental regulations, and internal standards

Collaboration & Support

+ Work with internal teams (Network Engineering, Facilities, Security) to align on project goals

+ Provide technical support during outages or scheduled maintenance windows

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Hands-on experience in cabling, construction, field work, farming, or landscaping would be preferred. Former military encouraged to apply.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
