    The Game Pass Deal & Partner Strategy team is responsible for investing in third party content for Xbox Game Pass and placing bets on the great games and experiences that make up Xbox Game Pass. We work closely with our partner teams across Microsoft to shape the content acquisition strategy for Game Pass and identify ways to create value for the growing number of game developers and publishers working with the service.

     

    We are seeking a Content Portfolio Planner who will play a key role in shaping the Game Pass content portfolio and the Game Pass value proposition for key external partners, including the largest game publishers in the world. You will be part of a high-performing and dynamic team focused on identifying, securing, and managing content investments in third party games to help us achieve our business goals and generate value for our partners in the process. To do so, you will work closely with partners across business development, engineering, operations, and marketing to evaluate and execute on content opportunities across all Game Pass platforms, including Xbox, PC, and cloud gaming, while also managing ongoing partner relationships.

     

    This job offers a unique blend of strategic analysis, effective storytelling, and partner management. With content as a key growth engine of Game Pass and a significant content budget to invest, this role is highly visible and provides opportunity to drive significant impact on a marquee service in a fast-changing category.

    Responsibilities

    + Drive thoughtful, principled investments in licensed content to support the growth of Xbox Game Pass across multiple endpoints

    + Own end-to-end content investment lifecycle, including target identification and evaluation, deal structuring, contract review, performance monitoring, and portfolio curation in cross-functional partnerships with other teams at Microsoft Gaming

    + Support and implement overall content investment strategy by operating existing programs and/or creating new processes as appropriate

    + Produce quantitative and qualitative analysis and content insights to drive deeper insights for Microsoft

    + Clearly articulate and communicate the value of Game Pass to publishers through partner pitches and presentations

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 2+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, marketing, finance or product planning experience in technology, media, or entertainment sectors.

    + Experience withinconsumer entertainment/gaming and subscriptions.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Effective storytelling and ability to communicate to a diverse set of stakeholders.

    + Track record of navigating ambiguity to drive outcomes and clarity by leveraging structured frameworks and quantitative and qualitative insights.

    + Fluency with data and analysis, including business case modeling and hypothesis testing.

    + Proven experience in working successfully across functions and organizations, with ability to navigate roadblocks and challenges.

    + A deep passion for learning about consumer entertainment/gaming and subscriptions.

    + Communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills, including a track record of leading discussions with senior leaders to actionable decisions.

    + Comfort with working in a fast-paced, dynamic and ambiguous environment with rapidly changing requirements

     

    Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
