Description

To lead the schedule, risk, and scope management of all critical Packaging Enterprise milestones to ensure project/initiatives are met on time, per the defined scope to meet the business needs. Additional role will be to lead a review of the current portfolio sufficiency of innovation including emerging/growth opportunities within the identified category to support upstream strategic corporate business initiatives that will result in effective, harmonized packaging solutions and launches for new products enterprise wide as well as track KPI's impacting Innovation pipeline.

Project Management:

+ Scope Management: Define project and product scope then develop, drive, track, and measure critical path schedules and KPIs against the corporate packaging priorities leveraging change management systems to deal with any proposed changes to scope.

+ Leverage scheduling tool to drive completion of activities on time and keep the team informed of results vs plan model scenarios to help drive timing decisions.

+ Manage Risks: define and determine, with the team, how to deal with risks, escalade those needed to hierarchy where their involvement is needed so that the right business decisions are made.

+ Communication: ensure effective communication happens within the team and to key stakeholders.

+ Stakeholder Management: ensure all stakeholder input is received and integrated into the project planning and that the appropriate level of communication is made with those stakeholders.

+ Cost Management: Understand cost needs for the project and ensure work is completed to meet those needs. (margins, cost reductions etc.).

+ Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle using appropriate tools as requested by management.

+ Partner with Global Brand Supply Chain (GBSC) and Senior Packaging leads to ensure Packaging timelines and input are integrated into the multi⁃functional schedule and stage gate reviews.

Innovation:

+ Partner with and empower cross functional Corporate Innovation teams across the Global Value Chain including R&D, Product Development and Foresight & Growth Intelligence to incorporate packaging and formula direction capability.

+ Fuel creation and identify sufficiency of new packaging concepts, technologies, and delivery systems to support a pipeline of Enterprise led innovation leveraging the resources of (but not limited to) the Category Packaging Innovation, Consumer Insights, Material Science and Industrial Design teams leveraging connectivity to the Brand Strategies.

+ Partner with external and internal Innovation teams in R&D and Packaging, leveraging a Packaging mindset to create priorities of where to play and how to win.

+ Keep informed of new applicable technologies, processes, procedures, and opportunities both within and outside our industry to continuously evaluate best practices and support product and packaging innovation.

+ Actively participate in key strategic initiatives/opportunities offering a Packaging lens that will result in effective and harmonized launches for new and/or existing products.

+ Drive corporate priorities to the brands to insure innovation sufficiency. Create enterprise wide connections across the Value Chain (R&D, SC and GSR).

Qualifications

+ Expertise across of all aspects of Packaging, including Innovation, Development, Material Science, Sustainability, Commercialization, Value Creation, Business Continuity, and Operations.

+ Enterprise Wide Program Management Expertise.

+ Preferred Degree: Packaging Science/Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business or other Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (S.T.E.M.) focused equivalent.

+ Proficiency in Computer Systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), SharePoint, Teams, MS Project and/or PLM software.

+ Basic knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging including but not limited to: Injection molding, Extrusion molding, Metal forming, Glass forming, Vacuum forming, Assembly of components, Dispensing systems (Pump, Airless), Folding carton and rigid box design.

+ Basic knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.

+ Basic knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance.

+ Strong data analytics, synthesis & visualization capability that can help automate and scale business processes.
