    Job Summary

    Bowdoin College is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Shuttle Driver to provide on-demand transportation for students within the Brunswick area. Operating a 7-passenger van, the driver will deliver safe, friendly, and timely service. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle, operating a radio communication device, and completing daily and weekly reports.

    Compensation:

    + The pay rate for this position is $18.40 per hour, and this position is eligible for overtime, shift, and weekend pay differentials

    + Shift Differentials: 10% for 2nd shift, 15% for 3rd shift, plus an additional $1.00/hour for weekend hours

    Education/Skills Requirements

    + High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s or Vocational/Technical training preferred

    + A valid Driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s current Motor Vehicle Use Policy required

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

    + Ability to remain calm and act effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations

    + Strong time management skills with a keen attention to detail

    + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook

    Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

    + At least one year of experience in a customer service-focused driving role (e.g., taxi, chauffeur, shuttle, or bus driver)

     

    Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hire.

    Standard Work Days and Hours

    + This is an onsite, full-time, academic year-round position, working 28 hours per week for 38 weeks per year (0.51 FTE ).

    + An academic year-round employee works from August through May and is not scheduled to work during winter, spring, or summer breaks

    + The regular work schedule for this position is Wednesday through Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m (or until last ride) and could change based on weather emergencies.
