Our Nuclear Projects group is a Tier 1 provider to the U.S. Department of Energy. We deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering, and construction services.
The Maintenance Support Technician plays a key role in maintaining a tenable and acceptable housekeeping standard for the Spent Fuel Handling construction project temporary facilities at the Naval Reactors Facility on the Idaho National Laboratory. Primary responsibilities will include performing a range of cleaning and sanitation duties across multiple construction and office trailers. This includes sanitation of lunchrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms. You’ll be performing a full range of cleaning duties, individually or as part of a group, daily for the purpose of maintaining acceptable housekeeping in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Work individually or as part of a small team.
+ Clean and disinfect break rooms, offices, conference rooms, kitchens and restrooms.
+ Resupply consumables (e.g. paper towels, toilet paper, soaps).
+ Notify purchasing agents when consumable inventories are low and need to be ordered.
+ Maintain orderly supply cabinets and closets used to store janitorial equipment and supplies.
+ Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, carpets and rugs. Remove scuff marks and heavy dirt/mud as necessary.
+ Empty trash and recycling receptacles. Gather all trash and recycling and dispose of in on-site roll-off containers.
+ Clean and sanitize restrooms (e.g. sinks, fixtures, toilets). Clean mirrors.
+ Arrange furniture for occasional special meetings and functions.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent GED.
+ Sole USA citizenship is required. No dual citizens may be accepted due to project security.
+ Must possess a valid Idaho driver's license.
+ Minimum one year experience in a custodial related field.
+ Must be able to operate floor-care machines and other custodial equipment properly, safely, and efficiently.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
+ Ability to develop effective working relationship with supervisor and fellow employees.
+ Ability to perform work independently.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with the MS Office Suite - specifically Word and Excel.
+ Person already residing a commutable distance from the Naval Reactors Facility at Idaho National Laboratory.
• Working knowledge of practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in custodial work; safety practices of custodial work and use of cleaning agents and equipment.
Work Environment:
Work will occur at the Spent Fuel Handling construction site, which is 55 miles west of Idaho Falls, ID. Tasks require a variety of physical activities generally involving muscular strain. Physical demands may occur in activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting, etc. Talking, hearing and seeing required in the daily performance of job duties. Exposure to environmental hazards and dangers resulting from working around dangerous equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to develop effective working relationship with supervisor and fellow employees.
Physical Requirements:
+ Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
+ Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and lift. Lifting requirements limited to 25 lbs. in the form of supplies and equipment. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, reach for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to hazards in the field.
Equipment and Machines:
+ Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, and related equipment (10%).
+ Standard janitorial equipment and tools - brooms, vacuums, mops, dusting brushes, wheeled carts (90%).
Attendance:
+ Regular attendance mandatory (100%).
+ Overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (20%).
Other Essential Information:
+ Valid driver's license is required.
+ Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
+ Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
+ Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employees or others.
+ Someone already residing a commutable distance from the Naval Reactors Facility at the Idaho National Laboratory area to make the commute daily, is preferred.
+ The work location is approximately 55 miles from Idaho Falls.
