    Summary You will serve as a Visitor Services Specialist (Events Manager) of NATIONAL MUSEUM. Responsibilities You will Inform clients of, and ensure compliance with, all DoD, Navy, NHHC/NMUSN, District of Columbia rules and regulations regarding holding events at NMUSN You will coordinate with NDW/NSAW to secure parking for events and gain permission to serve alcohol at daytime events You will direct clients to appropriate avenues to secure relevant USN/NDW/NSAW resources You will evaluate, authorize and maintain up-to-date information on catering resources for the NMUSN approved catering list, ensuring they have the required training on requirements to cater events as well as the required insurance and licenses You will evaluate, authorize and maintain updated info. on event support providers (chairs, AV, set up etc.) for the NMUSN approved event support list, ensuring they have the required training to cater events in the Museum (insurance and licenses) You will work with NHHC Facilities, NSAW and NAVFAC to identify, report, track and resolve facilities issues and act as Maximo Building Coordinator, tracking facilities issues and work requests with NAVFAC, EMCOR etc. You will assists Museum Director, Administrative Officer and Naval Museums Division staff as needed Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Scheduling, staffing and managing events including, but not limited to, military ceremonies, receptions, presentations, reunions Coordinating with others regarding booking of tours, visits, lectures and programs Tracking and scheduling events and core dates Maintaining detailed records and sharable calendar of events Providing prompt, excellent customer service via in-person meetings, telephonic and email communication Assisting and directing clients with information regarding procuring approved event services and resources to include support services (chairs, stages, tables, AV etc.) and approved catering services Identifying, reporting, tracking and resolving facilities issues and work requests Ensuring facilities are properly opened/secured by addressing security issues Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
