Murrey’s, a division of **Waste Connections** , is hiring a **Preventative Maintenance Technician** to support our fleet operations in **Fife, Washington** . This is an **entry-level opportunity** designed to grow into a **Diesel Mechanic** role. If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking for a long-term career path, we want to hear from you!
• **Schedule:**
+ Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
+ Overtime: 3–10 hours/week on average
• **Compensation & Perks:**
+ **Base Pay:** $29.00 – $30.25/hour
+ **Shift Differential:** +$1.50/hour
+ **CDL Premium:** +$1.00/hour for CDL holders
+ **Total Starting Pay:** $30.50 – $31.75/hour (or more with CDL)
+ **Tool Allowance:** $125/month
+ **Annual Boot Voucher**
+ **Uniforms Provided**

• **Career Growth:**
This is a **starting position** with a clear path to becoming a **Diesel Mechanic** . We invest in our people through hands-on training, mentorship, and internal promotions. Many of our top mechanics started in this very role!
• **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Perform preventative maintenance on garbage trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
+ Use fleet maintenance software to manage service records
+ Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop
+ Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
+ Complete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
• **Qualifications:**
+ Experience in commercial vehicle or diesel maintenance preferred (not required)
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Basic tool set and toolbox
+ Basic computer skills and ability to use diagnostic tools
+ Positive attitude and willingness to learn
