    Job Summary:

    MUFG is seeking a highly motivated SIEM and SOAR Analyst as part of the Engineering team to design and implement cutting-edge technology to improve security posture. This person will work with other engineering team members to drive the engineering standards and implementation across the global deployment.

     

    The Role of the Information Security Engineer Analyst will be part of a team that is responsible to manage, enhance and monitor the enterprise log management and security orchestration platforms. The engineer will be part of a team that will work closely with key stakeholders from Security Operations Center, IT, Business and Corporate Support Functions to gather requirements, understand priorities and communicate in business speaking terms to the lines of business, and to upper management.

     

    The engineer analyst will be part of a team that will identify and develop metrics that will measure the effectiveness of practices and controls for SIEM and SOAR platforms on a periodic basis; and develop dashboards that illustrate the effectiveness of coverage, monitoring and security of enterprise logs over time.

     

    Additionally, the engineer analyst is part of a team that will work to resolve information security related incidents and events related security breaches in a manner that ensures the safety of information system assets and confidential customer, consumer, employee and corporate data. The engineers will also identify and manage the implementation of appropriate security controls, aligned with industry’s best practices to meet security objectives and standards while allowing flexibility for the businesses to manage their responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for maintaining the current customer managed Splunk and SIEM infrastructure

    + Responsible for log onboarding and alert monitoring setup in Splunk Cloud and other SIEM products

    + Responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance the current baseline processes and configuration

    + Responsible for monitoring the health of the customer managed asset and vendor managed Splunk infrastructure configuration

    + Responsible for working with key stakeholders of the services to ensure the expectations are meeting the requirements

    + Responsible for maintaining the documented baseline configuration and executing the standard operating procedures to maintain the configuration

    + Research and look for opportunities to adopt the best practices and industry standards to enhance the SIEM and SOAR platforms

    + Follow the enterprise processes to maintain the platform documentation in standard templates

    + Define SIEM and SOAR platform standards including data schema, modelling, normalization, monitoring and alerting.

    + Ability to develop different scripts and products RegEx for configuring policy to detect security alerts as per threat, anomaly, etc.

    + Ability to conduct fraud analysis and threat detection.

    + Generate different types of reports using SIEM & SOAR data

    + Knowledge of various applications and systems that include Servers, security platforms, middleware, Clouds (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS), Containers, etc. to come up with the right approach of SIEM integration

    + Ability to understand security risks and controls, to analyze various methods of controlling information security problems, determine the strengths and weaknesses of each method and implement the best cost-justified solution

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 3+ years of experience in technology with emphasis on cyber security.

    + At least 2+ years of experience in SIEM and SOAR products such as Splunk, Elastic, Datadog or Cribl.

    + At least 1+ years of experience in Data Lake and data warehouse using products such as AWS S3, Snowflake, Databricks.

    + Experience with scripting is highly preferred like Python or Ansible

    + Experience in creating trending, metrics, and management reports

    + Working knowledge in RegEx, Splunk search language is required.

    + Knowledge and experience operating in a hybrid-cloud environment.

    + Knowledge of modern security principles and their practical applications.

    + Knowledge and experience in AWS or Azure

    + Knowledge and experience with programming language to automate tasks such as Python or PowerShell

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or relevant industry certifications. Equivalent work experience is equally preferable.

     

    The typical base pay range for this role is between $100K - $130K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
