    Legends/ASM Global, the global leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Officer for the Century Center in South Bend. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and security of employees, guests, and property across the venue complex.

     

    As a Security Officer, you will supervise and deliver security services, emphasizing superior service to event attendees, staff, and contractors. Key responsibilities include safeguarding the property during event setup, execution, and teardown, addressing security concerns, and ensuring a positive and secure environment. This position requires collaboration with other team members to maintain high standards of safety, security, and guest satisfaction.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

    + Deliver outstanding customer service to guests, vendors, participants, and colleagues, fostering a positive impression of the facility.

    + Work independently and respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring swift and effective resolution.

    + Routinely inspect the premises for signs of intrusion or tampering, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.

    + Oversee and secure entry and exit points by locking and unlocking facility doors and ensuring they remain secured during routine inspections.

    + Monitor and maintain security systems, including surveillance cameras, and promptly notify appropriate personnel of emergencies.

    + Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on company equipment and property to ensure operational efficiency.

    + Address disturbances and escort disruptive individuals off the premises when necessary.

    + Prepare and submit detailed incident reports following any incidents or disturbances.

    + Utilize basic computer skills to complete and manage documentation electronically.

    + Monitor parking areas.

    + Assist with crowd management during events, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

    + Enforce company policies and procedures, including smoking and re-entry regulations, while maintaining a safe and orderly environment reporting any violations to management.

    + Collaborate with other departments and event teams to achieve shared objectives.

    + Provide accurate shift and event reports to security management.

    + Adhere to departmental performance, conduct, and attendance standards.

    + Complete all assigned tasks within established timelines and guidelines.

    + Maintain accurate records of keys and equipment, ensuring proper inventory control.

    + Be available to work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

     

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant work experience in security or a related field.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.

    + Knowledge and training in First Aid/ CPR preferred but not required

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to patrons, employees, and company operations.

    + Ability to quickly memorize, recollect, and retrieve relevant information as needed.

    + Ability to interact professionally and calmly with patrons and employees in emotionally charged or aggressive situations.

    + Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.

    + Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

    + Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to represent the Security Department in an exemplary manner.

    + Must be able to participate in all departmental and company-wide meetings as required.

    + Ability to perform duties efficiently while managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.

     

    Hours of Work

     

    + Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

     

    Physical Demands

     

    + Requires physical ability to move around facility, grounds, and buildings.

    + Requires operation of motor vehicles

    + May be exposed to physical confrontations.

    + Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, with possible exposure to inclement weather.

    + Walking and standing occurs 90% of the time.
