    Job Summary

    Responsible for a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.

    Job Duties

    + Performs and processes echocardiographic examinations including two-dimensional, three dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, and special procedures and exercise techniques.

    + Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment and patients.

    + Assists with special procedures including transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography.

    + Analyzes and files echocardiographic data utilizing digital computer analysis systems.

    + Assists in developing and maintaining internal training programs and in technical instruction of echocardiographic techniques.

    + Assists in approved research activities.

    + Performs mobile Echo service as directed.

    + Interprets and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.

    *Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and formal training.(Graduation from an accredited training program in cardiac ultrasound = 2 years).

    Experience

    Certification(s) and License(s)

     

    Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification required within 6 months of hire - Default Issuing Body; Certified Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer within 6 months of hire - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
