    Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) has locations in Othello and the Central District. Services at the clinics include pediatric medical care, behavioral health, dental services, nutrition, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and more. Since 1970, OBCC has worked to uphold the vision of community organizer Odessa Brown: to bring quality healthcare with dignity to children from birth to young adulthood in the Central District and south Seattle.

     

    The Early Childhood Developmental Navigator (ECDN) provides culturally responsive developmental screening, strengths-based developmental promotion, and proactive case management to early childhood services for patients from birth to five years old. The ECDN collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to break down silos and transform healthcare services to improve equity and accessibility for families, particularly those facing linguistic and/or cultural barriers to care.

     

    Job duties for this individual will include contacting families in advance of an appointment to conduct developmental screenings, ongoing family support, case management, referrals to appropriate services, advocacy for developmental resources, and other interventions as they arise

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    High school diploma or equivalent experience.

     

    Interest and ability to successfully work in diverse communities, including self-awareness, understanding of systems of oppression, and willingness to contribute to undoing institutionalized racism.

     

    Interest and ability to connect with diverse families and support them in overcoming systemic barriers.

     

    Comfort with interacting with young children and commitment to creating a child-friendly environment.

     

    Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse clients, agency staff, and team members.

     

    Commitment to improving the experience of care for children and families, particularly those underserved by our current systems.

     

    Access to transportation to attend occasional off-site visits, trainings, or meetings.

     

    Demonstrated skill with computer databases, registries, and/or practice management systems.

     

    Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload of multiple families.

     

    Preferred

     

    Being bilingual in Somali is a highly preferred skill for the position.

     

    At least 1 year of experience working in the field of social services.

     

    Case management serving complex families.

     

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

     

    Knowledge of early childhood development.

     

    Knowledge of local resources for families with young children, preferably resources in King County.

     

    Compensation Range

     

    $28.44 - $42.66 per hour

     

    Salary Information

     

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
