    Job Title: Residential Care Assistant / Direct Support Specialist

    Status: Part-Time

    Salary: $18.50 per hour + $1.50/hour Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for Westwood location only

     

    Benefits: Paid sick leave; 401(k) eligibility after 500 hours worked

    Available Shifts:

    + Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Position Summary:

    Join Pillar Care Continuum and make a meaningful impact in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Residential Care Assistant / Direct Support Specialist, you will provide hands-on support to individuals, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives in a warm, home-like environment. You will assist with daily routines, medication, community engagement, and household tasks—ensuring every individual is treated with respect, compassion, and dignity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, meal preparation, and feeding

    + Support residents in achieving goals as outlined in their HSP/ISP

    + Document health, behavioral, and medication updates per program guidelines

    + Perform household duties and ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment

    + Provide reliable transportation and escort residents to appointments, activities, and community outings

    + Communicate effectively with residents' family members, team members, and supervisors

    + Attend staff meetings and assist with resident participation in house meetings

    + Follow all agency policies, procedures, and standard health and safety precautions

    Required Qualifications:

    + Minimum 18 years of age (per insurance requirements)

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Minimum 1–2 years of consistent employment history with the same agency or employer

    + 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

    + Valid driver's license with no more than 3 points
