    Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center has an opening for a School Building Leader (SBL) at our North Street location. This role will implement and oversee the program curriculum and classroom structures of the Early Childhood Program (ECP). This will involve developing and implementing effective special education teaching philosophies as well as developing and monitoring high quality standards for the preschool special education classroom setting.

     

    The SBL will have hiring and supervisory responsibility for direct care staff which includes teachers, teacher aides, therapists, social worker, and other classroom support personnel as assigned. There will also be the opportunity to develop program curriculum and collaborate with other ECP leaders for effective program implementation.

    The SBL will also be responsible for the following duties:

    + Collaborate with ECP Director on new referrals, intake process/student placement and parent tours

    + Collaborate with ECP office coordinator for intake, transportation, and site management

    + Monitor paperwork and classroom procedures including annual reviews

    + Lead strategic initiatives to enhance the growth of the program

    Qualified applicants will have:

    + Knowledge of Special Education preschool classroom practices

    + Excellent organizational and communication skills

    + Ability to set and delegate agency goals and objectives

    + Ability to create supportive working relationships by providing assistance, support, and motivation to staff

    + Three to five years supervisory or management experience preferred

    Education & Certification Requirements

    • Master's degree in Education

    • Professional or Permanent teaching certification, NYS School Administrator SBL Certification
