Summary You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE of NAVAL STATION EVERETT. Responsibilities You will develop new information materials (e.g., news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots, promotional marketing, public service advertisement) that increase and improve communication with the agency's various publics. You will manage a public information program to include advising in leadership communications and participation in community events. You will respond to information requests from the print and broadcast media, the general public, or other information offices or personnel internal and external to the organization. You will develop written materials which transmits information concerning the nature and purpose of the organization's programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing a public information program to include advising in leadership communications and participation in community events;2) Writing and editing a variety of correspondence, articles, news releases, speeches and presentations to convey information about organization's programs, activities and functions; 3) Analyzing program needs to advise management of information that should be made public and dissemination tactics; and 4) Establishing relationships with print and broadcast media to disseminate information and answer inquiries.
