Job Description
**AECOM TechWorks** has supported our customers in some of their most challenging times. AECOM has helped both public and private sector clients collect, manage, process, store and exploit data for thousands of damaged structures, hundreds of thousands of square miles of imagery, dozens of critical infrastructure components, and has deployed dozens of solutions on mobile, tablet, desktop, and browser-based platforms. Our portfolio of meaningful and high-profile projects continues to expand.
The successful candidate will support AECOM TechWorks in various technology infrastructure tasks and will be responsible for participating in the design, implementation, system operations and system integration tasks for a portfolio of supported applications in cloud environments. The home office for this position will be Germantown, MD but the position can be fully in-person or hybrid at any AECOM office. The expectation of the candidate selected for this position is that they will work collaboratively with the team by utilizing Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Confluence and other collaboration and development tools.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the design and implementation of robust application infrastructure solutions, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
+ Automate processes and build tools and scripts to improve our operational efficiency.
+ Collaborate with development and data teams to publish web applications, troubleshoot issues and set up infrastructure components for new cloud-based projects.
+ Monitor resource utilization and costs.
+ Document infrastructure configurations and assist with security scans and backups.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
+ BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education or AA/AS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education or HS/GED + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Professional experience with web servers.
+ Professional experience with database servers.
+ Professional experience working with AWS Services to support development environments and production infrastructures.
+ Professional experience with Linux and Windows.
+ Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ AWS, Azure and/or networking certifications.
+ Professional experience working in a team environment.
+ Ability to collaborate with other developers, testers, managers, and clients (internal and external).
+ Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written skills.
+ Familiarity with virtualization technologies and troubleshooting virtual machine instances.
+ Experience with scripting (Python).
+ Knowledge of full- life cycle development environments, source control, testing/staging/production and issue tracking.
+ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
+ Familiarity with serverless technologies and frameworks.
Additional Information
+ This position does not offer relocation assistance.
+ Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $84,000.00.
