    We are looking for an Assistant Underwriter I to join our team nationwide!

    Summary:

    Provides support to property & casualty (P&C) underwriting units by handling routine rating, endorsements, new business/renewals and other basic underwriting functions.

     

    A typical day will include the following:

    + Maintains records of property & casualty (P&C) losses, endorsements or other pertinent information on assigned accounts.

    + Communicates with appropriate colleagues about (P&C) needs, changes or concerns regarding assigned accounts.

    + Accurately enter all risk and exposure information into underwriting rating system following the company's filed rules, rates and underwriting appetite to calculate premiums which adequately reflect applicant's exposure all while remaining within given underwriter authority.

    + Understands key components of common products in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.

    + Processes (P&C) new business/renewals and endorsements for assigned accounts and handles basic (P&C) underwriting analysis for some routine new and renewal business applications

    + Maintain knowledge of underwriting rates, rules and guidelines on assigned programs, products, and geographic regions as well as knowledge on overall company workflow, procedures and products

    Successful candidates will have the following:

    + High School diploma or equivalent is required. Some college is preferred.

    + Interest to learn commercial insurance

    + Computer proficiency with Windows and office support software.
