Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Cafe Manager to lead all aspects of the daily operations of our two-section, all-you-care-to-eat cafe, serving an average of 350 guests every single day. This role is responsible for leading a team of 20+ associates including chefs, runners, dishwashers, and receivers, while maintaining operational excellence, ensuring outstanding guest experiences, and supporting financial performance.

+ No weekends – Monday to Friday schedule for work-life balance.

+ Stable hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with evenings free.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead, train, supervise, and coach a team of 20+ associates to deliver a seamless dining experience.

+ Manage day-to-day cafe operations, ensuring consistent quality, service, and presentation standards.

+ Plan and coordinate special events and promotions within the cafe.

+ Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and health standards at all times.

+ Monitor and manage budgets, labor, and operating costs while identifying opportunities to optimize efficiency.

+ Maintain strong working relationships with union staff, ensuring fair and compliant practices.

+ Perform administrative duties, including scheduling, payroll, and reporting.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent experience).

+ 1–3 years of experience in food service, restaurants, or corporate dining (union environment experience strongly preferred).

+ Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and leadership skills.

+ ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred.
