    Global Advocacy Manager, Rare Disease

     

    What you will do

     

    Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will play an important role in advancing global advocacy efforts in rare disease. Working closely with the Global Advocacy Director and in-country and regional advocacy leads, you will ensure strong collaboration with patient advocacy groups, help coordinate patient engagement activities and support strategic initiatives. The role involves direct interaction with internal and external partners and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient-centered work across geographies. This will be a remote role based in the US, with domestic and international travel to support key advocacy events will report to the Global Advocacy Director, Rare Disease.

    Key responsibilities:

    + Play a key role in coordinating global advocacy engagement plans and partnerships with patient advocacy groups and communities, ensuring timely execution, clear accountability and strategic alignment

    + Assist with planning and delivering global events like Mission Week, Stakeholder Summit, including identifying and preparing patient participants and aligning deliverables with advocacy goals

    + Help manage a global pool of patients by tracking participation, ensuring diverse representation and coordinating logistics for events and campaigns

    + Support the end-to-end contracting process for patients by liaising with internal stakeholders, tracking deliverables and maintaining documentation

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies to support patient engagement activities, including meeting prep, content review and campaign execution

    + Maintain centralized documentation of patient and advocacy interactions to support continuity, knowledge-sharing and alignment with broader initiatives

    + Partner with global and in-country compliance and legal teams on program activation to ensure proactive risk assessment, clear documentation and timely approvals

    Basic Qualifications:

    Doctorate degree

    OR

    Master’s degree and 3 years of patient advocacy, communications or public affairs experience

     

    Or

     

    Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of patient advocacy, communications or public affairs experience

     

    Or

     

    Associate’s degree and 8 years of patient advocacy, communications or public affairs experience

     

    Or

     

    High school diploma / GED and 10 years of patient advocacy, communications or public affairs experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, or a patient advocacy group.

    + Strong project management and organizational abilities, with experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Collaborative and inclusive mindset with the ability to engage and influence diverse partners across geographies and functions.

    + Familiarity with global healthcare systems, patient advocacy and regulatory environments.

    The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
