Job Summary
We are seeking dynamic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as full-time a Starbucks Barista (LS Operator) at the University of Utah Campus Store Starbucks or the J. Willard Marriott Library Starbucks.
The Starbucks Barista (LS Operator) is a full-time, customer-focused team member responsible for delivering legendary Starbucks service and high-quality beverages and food in a fast-paced university environment. This position supports operations at both the Campus Store and Marriott Library Starbucks locations, ensuring compliance with both Starbucks and University of Utah standards.
As a Barista in this role, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that brings the Starbucks experience to life at the University of Utah. You’ll serve handcrafted beverages and food while delivering unmatched customer service, a core value of the University Campus Store. This position also functions as a Shift Lead, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities
* Support baristas by removing obstacles and ensuring they have what they need to succeed.
* Lead daily operations through the phases of Prepare, Lead, and Transition.
* Make customer-focused decisions, including reviewing shift coverage and adjusting as needed.
* Assist with scheduling and planning based on sales trends and staffing needs.
* Oversee store organization, inventory ordering and receiving, and analyze sales data.
* Craft and serve Starbucks beverages and food items to brand standards.
* Provide legendary customer service with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment.
* Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
* Operate POS systems and handle transactions accurately.
* Support opening and closing duties at both locations.
* Collaborate with team members to uphold the values and mission of the Campus Store.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Food Handler’s Permit within one month of employment; must be able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English; and a commitment to providing excellence in service required. Six months food handlers’ experience is preferred.
Preferences
* Previous food service or retail experience preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
* Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
